Bill  was born March 11, 1929. He dropped from the university of Harvard and then he moved to New York. He worked at making hats, he was serving a tour in the U.S Army then he went back to New York and started writing for the Chicago Tribune. When he was working at the Tribune he started taking photos of fashion on the streets of New York, he publish some pictures in December 1978 which soon became regular series. Most of the pictures that he takes are never published, he has history of the streets of New York for the last 40 or 50 years. He has a career of taking photograph of celebrities, socialites, and fashion personalities.
